A Thought on Work Worries…

We spend a lot of time at work, so feeling comfortable and mentally sound while we’re there (and when we leave) is pretty important. Unfortunately, that’s not always the case. For me, work worries have a tendency to creep in during off-hours, prolonging the stress from the day. Not only to I think about work while I’m in the office, but I also think about it while I’m gone. There are days when I feel like I can take on the world… and others when I can barely handle my workload at all. I find myself full of workplace worries on the weekends, stressing over deadlines and things completely out of my control. I definitely have a hard time leaving my “work” at work.

But, I’ve found a way to shift this mindset—to adjust by reorganizing my tasks and activities to complete some of them quicker. I make prioritizing a priority. Not only does this create a new powerful mindset, it eventually frees up my schedule for more stress-free down time. When I’m stressing out over what’s happening at my office, I’ll go directly to my manager and speak my mind. So, instead of letting stress worm it’s way deeper into my head, I’ve found that the best way to deal with (and inevitably conquer) these workplace worries is to confront them head-on.
